Living Lab workshops in Seville brought together experts, producers and local initiatives to explore how regenerative agriculture and the Mediterranean diet can support sustainable local economies. The sessions are part of the Interreg Euro-MED project MedDietGo!, which aims to build a European cluster around the Mediterranean diet.

The workshops, held in Seville in 2025, looked at two connected themes. The first focused on strengthening ties between farmers and local communities through regenerative and proximity agriculture, with examples including an organic berry grower in the Doñana region that combines regenerative farming with biodiversity protection, and a social enterprise supported by Cáritas Sevilla that works with short supply chains and circular economy principles. The second looked at the Mediterranean diet as a lifestyle that connects health, culture and sustainability, and at how centuries-old olive traditions can be kept relevant today.

MedDietGo! aims to promote the diet as a tool for healthy living, support environmentally responsible farming and gastronomy, and set up an international cluster linking businesses, researchers and communities. For destinations, the approach shows how local food systems can become the base for authentic visitor experiences, from farm visits to gastronomy and educational activities, while keeping more of the value with local producers.
