The Academia Digital, developed by Turismo de Portugal, is hosting a free online training session on Portuguese Biosphere Reserves and tourism from 5 to 26 May 2025. This 9-hour online course, hosted by the Portalegre Hotel and Tourism School, targets professionals in the tourism sector and entities promoting tourism in Biosphere Reserve territories. The course aims to provide technical knowledge on the natural and cultural heritage of Portuguese Biosphere Reserves, raise awareness about biodiversity conservation, and promote sustainable tourism practices. Topics include UNESCO’s “Man and the Biosphere” Programme, biodiversity and ecosystem services, and digital marketing for responsible tourism. Registration is required, but there is no fee. Those who attend at least 90% of the course will have the opportunity to receive a certificate (The original piece available only in Portuguese).
