The Industrial Production Index tracks month-to-month and year-on-year changes in output for the EU as a whole and for individual Member States, with the most recent release showing the index essentially flat month-on-month but up slightly on the same period a year earlier. The companion Prodcom database breaks this down to the level of individual manufactured products, covering mining, manufacturing and materials-recovery activities, giving manufacturers and analysts a way to track shifts within specific product categories over time rather than relying on economy-wide averages alone.
