Flemish manufacturing SMEs can use VLAIO's KMO-portefeuille (SME Wallet) to part-fund external training courses and expert advice, covering everything from a specific robotics or automation training programme to strategic digitalisation consultancy, rather than the state directly running the courses itself.

This voucher-style model means the actual training content comes from the market - accredited external providers - while VLAIO's role is to make it more affordable for smaller companies. For manufacturers weighing whether a particular course or advisory engagement is worth the cost, the Wallet effectively lowers the price by covering part of the fee, subject to eligibility conditions and annual caps.
