The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU), which funds the 6G research projects covered elsewhere in this ecosystem's content, is jointly led by the European Commission and the 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association (6G-IA) - a public-private partnership structure rather than a purely public programme.

For manufacturers with a stake in how future industrial connectivity standards develop, 6G-IA membership is the practical route into shaping SNS JU priorities directly, rather than only reacting to finished standards and funding calls after they are published. Given that roughly 80% of current SNS JU projects already embed AI as a core network-management component, and that industrial applications feature prominently across the SNS JU project portfolio, this association is a genuine point of influence for equipment manufacturers whose products will need to interoperate with whatever connectivity standards eventually emerge.
