This is a call for tenders in the field of food and feed safety under an open procurement procedure managed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The call will fund the development of a novel strategy for allergenicity risk assessment (RA) of proteins in food and feed products.
It aims at enhancing the reliability and speed of allergenicity risk assessment through the creation of validated open-source in silico prediction tools, supported by experimental data. The project will also explore future prospects for in silico tools and establish thresholds of allergological concern.
The selected contractor will develop a systematic tiered approach with a decision-making framework to support process simplification and harmonisation, ultimately enabling better-informed risk management decision-making across regulated food and feed products.
The contract is structured as a framework agreement (without reopening of competition), with a maximum duration of 48 months, and will be awarded based on the best price-quality ratio.
More information about it can be found on the EU Funding and Tenders Portal. Questions may be submitted until 15 June 2026, 23:59 (Europe/Rome).
