The five-year project brings together 20 partners from 12 EU countries and the United Kingdom, establishing a network of 11 regional Practice Hubs to connect protein-crop growers, processors, feed businesses and livestock farmers, and to test practical approaches under real farming and supply-chain conditions. Legume protein crops fix nitrogen from the atmosphere, reducing the need for synthetic nitrogen fertiliser and the associated emissions, while also supporting soil health, biodiversity and pollinators.

The project has two linked goals: increasing and stabilising yields of European-grown protein crops, and developing cost-effective local and regional processing systems to convert them into livestock feed, building the supply chains needed to reduce dependence on imported protein and improve farm profitability.
