In Sibiu, Romania, the Astra Museum Complex has undertaken an ongoing project since 2019 with the aim of bridging the gap between archaic rural life and modern technology. By creating a connection between these contrasting worlds, the museum facilitates community access to heritage and patrimony. This innovative endeavor introduces visitors to a unique exhibition experience, utilizing Virtual Reality to immerse them in personalized narratives that evoke emotions and sentiments. Through ASTRA VR, tourists engage with live representations of daily village life, becoming integral parts of the stories unfolding before them. With the ASTRA Open Air Museum as the main stakeholder, this project significantly enhances the visitor experience, offering a fresh approach to cultural heritage exploration.
