The FLORA project, taking place from June 2022 to May 2024, aimed to create an industrial-scale prototype called the FLORA Ocean Station (FLORA O.S.), which integrates renewable energy generation with oceanographic functions. This station, utilizing a hybrid system of wave and solar energy, was planned to collect essential environmental data on marine biodiversity and bird populations to aid Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) and minimize the environmental impact of offshore wind energy projects. The innovative design of the FLORA O.S. has earned the iF DESIGN Award 2024.
