The European Commission released the Good Practices for Sustainable Cruise Tourism study in 2023. It compiles and evaluates the relevant data to assist cruise industry stakeholders in promoting sustainability. The industry's best practices are highlighted, such as LNG bunkering, Onshore Power Supply (OPS), environmentally friendly cruise terminals, trash treatment, food waste reduction, and comprehensive destination management. These procedures help the cruise industry ensure responsible tourism, minimise its negative effects on the environment, and increase efficiency.
