The Finnish Border Guard's pilot project on Digital Travel Credentials (DTC), conducted from 28 August 2023 to 31 March 2024, tested a digital version of the traditional passport at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. This initiative aimed to streamline border control processes, achieving faster and more efficient checks without compromising security. The pilot involved collaboration with various stakeholders, and demonstrated the potential for DTC to enhance travel experiences across the EU.For a detailed overview of best practices, including key principles, examples, challenges and outcomes, please refer to the attached link.
