Távora St Maria, Arcos de Valdevez is home to Quinta do Olival, a case study of an agrotourism enterprise, according to the STAY project, which has been co-funded by the EU since 2022. The five-house estate, which has been in operation since 2012, provides a rustic outdoor experience complete with orchards, an organic garden, and farm animals. Bicycles are provided for guests to use in order to explore the area. The project, which was initiated in 2006 by the original owners' granddaughter, attempts to maintain the family's traditional way of life. Every year, about 800 people come here. In order to serve a varied clientele, this agrotourism offers local goods and places a high value on language instruction. The proprietors stress that the secret to success is love, devotion, and commitment.
