The completed project "Tourism Potential of Railway Services 2," which ran from January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2019, aimed to explore and enhance the relationship between railway services and tourism. Directed by Marc Guigon and managed by Vanessa Pérez, this initiative recognized the historical linkage between railways and tourism since the 19th century, emphasizing the need for sustainable development and regional diversification. Despite the attractiveness of tourist trains, the project identified challenges such as limited networking and visibility of these services. By promoting collaboration among stakeholders, the project sought to improve awareness of railway tourism products, thus driving regional development and enhancing the global image of railways.
