The renewable feedstock is processed using existing production infrastructure, with a mass balance approach used to allocate the renewable content to the final nylon products. The resulting fibre is designed to provide the same quality and performance as conventionally produced fossil-based nylon.

According to Neste, replacing virgin fossil feedstock with renewable raw materials can reduce greenhouse gas emissions linked to the raw material by more than 85%, based on a 2021 life cycle assessment.
