In 2022, the European Commission's High-Level Construction Forum (HLCF) conducted a series of thematic sessions and webinars to support the co-creation of the Transition Pathway for Construction. These sessions focused on key areas such as asbestos management, EU initiatives for the green transition, and the integration of building information modelling (BIM) in public procurement.

Notably, on 19-20 October 2022, the HLCF organised innovation-focused sessions aimed at identifying technologies that could advance the construction sector’s green and digital transformation. These sessions facilitated discussions on research and innovation challenges, technology uptake, and the transfer of technology from research to market. The outcomes are detailed in the ‘HLCF webinar meeting report on innovation in construction’.

Additionally, webinars addressed topics such as new construction methods and data utilisation, contributing to the development of the Transition Pathway published in March 2023. These efforts underscore the EU's commitment to fostering a resilient, sustainable, and digitally advanced construction sector through collaborative stakeholder engagement.
