On 14 July 2026, the European Commission published its first assessment of draft National Building Renovation Plans submitted by Member States under the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).

The draft National Building Renovation Plans outline how Member States intend to improve the energy performance of their building stock, increase the use of renewable energy and support the transition towards climate-neutral buildings by 2050.
