On 26 August 2026, BUILD UP published an overview of the LCCbyg lifecycle costing tool developed by the Danish Building Research Institute at Aalborg University in collaboration with software specialists. LCCbyg calculates lifecycle costs for entire buildings or individual building components. It enables users to compare alternatives with different cost profiles over time and assess costs associated with construction, operation, maintenance and replacement activities. According to BUILD UP, the tool can be used by public and private clients, consultants, contractors and building owners to support decision-making and document lifecycle cost assessments.
