On 2 April 2025, AFOMEF announced the six selected projects under the AFOMEF POCTEFA 2021-2027 call. These initiatives will receive EUR 14.8 million from the European Regional Development Fund, leveraging a total investment of around EUR 23 million. The INTERREG POCTEFA programme promotes cross-border cooperation, supporting local initiatives in functional areas, which serve as innovation hubs to enhance regional cohesion and improve citizens’ quality of life.

Over the next 4 years, these projects will implement actions across Euskadi, Navarra, and Nouvelle-Aquitaine. LANEAN addresses legal, tax, and linguistic barriers to create an integrated cross-border labour market. TRANSFERMUGI and MUGAZIKLO improve transport interoperability and promote sustainable mobility. SAREBIDE advances digital transformation for Basque-language media while EUSGUNEAK strengthens Basque language education. Lastly, HEZHI fosters plurilingual education through exchanges and teacher training.
