In 2023, foreign tourists visiting Cyprus showed a clear preference for 4-star hotels, which accounted for 18.2% of their accommodation choices. This was closely followed by staying with friends and relatives, which made up 15.1% of the choices. The most frequented 4-star hotels were found in Pafos/Polis, attracting 45.5% of the visitors. Meanwhile, Lemesos city was the most popular location for those choosing to stay with friends and relatives, with 26.8% of all such stays. Interestingly, this trend mirrors that of 2019, indicating a consistent preference among foreign tourists for these types of accommodations.
