According to the EU Tourism Dashboard, in 2022, EU destinations exhibited a lower-than-expected online presence of tourism accommodation capacity compared to recorded tourism demand, with a negative level of 0.5%. In contrast, in 2021, the value was positive at 0.6%. Notably, the lowest values of this indicator were recorded in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, with negative values of 54.8%, 37.1%, and 37.0%, respectively. However, Romania achieved an absolute match between the presence of tourism accommodation capacity and tourism demand. The indicator suggests that most EU countries should consider enhancing their online visibility of tourism accommodation capacity.
