According to statistics, the number of tourists in Portugal increased significantly from 1.5 million in January to 3.1 million in May 2024, with the proportion of foreign visitors rising from 54.1% to 66.2%.

From January to May 2024, Portugal experienced a significant increase in tourism, with the total number of tourists rising from 1.5 million to 3.1 million. As the tourist season approached, the proportion of foreign visitors also saw an upward trend, moving from 54.1% in January to 66.2% in May. Comparing these figures to the pre-pandemic levels in 2019, there was growth from 1.3 million guests in January 2019 to 2.6 million in May 2019. The share of foreign visitors during this time increased from 53.9% to 65.7%, indicating a consistent trend in attracting visitors to the country.
