In 2022, according to the eurostat, 53.2% of accommodation and food service businesses in the EU achieved a basic level of digital intensity. However, this falls approximately 40% below the EU’s 2030 target. On the other hand, for travel agencies, tour operators, and related reservation services, the digital intensity stood at 92.5%. Notably, the proportion of accommodation and food service businesses with a very low level of digital intensity varied significantly across EU countries, ranging from 79.7% in Greece to 15.7% in Denmark. To meet the EU’s goal by 2030, enterprises should intensify their digital transformation efforts.
