According to a Eurostat article published in December 2023 on intra-EU tourism, Europeans in 2022 typically stayed for more than a week when visiting other EU countries. This resulted in 202 million tourism trips with at least one overnight stay. The breakdown by month shows that August (14.7%) and July (13.0%) together accounted for over a quarter of these trips, while January saw only 2.9% of intra-EU trips. For more details on intra-EU tourism flows, including information on the average duration of trips, expenditures, means of transport, and accommodation choices, please refer to the attached list on the left-hand side of the platform.
