Eurostat 2022 tourism statistics reveal that Berlin, Paris, and Madrid were the top regions for domestic tourist nights, while Mallorca led for international tourists. The southern Spanish region of Málaga had the highest number of guest nights via online booking platforms. The data highlights the significant role of tourism in regional economies, especially in coastal, mountain, and outermost regions, while also noting the environmental and infrastructural challenges posed by high tourism demand.
