In 2022, the most popular mode of travel for the Croatian population was by car, whether private or rented. Cars accounted for 57.7% of international trips and 86.5% of domestic trips. This trend was also evident in professional or business travel, with cars being used for 72.5% of all such trips. Conversely, more sustainable travel options like trains were among the least popular, with only 1.6% of private trips and around 3.0% of business trips being made by train.
