According to a survey conducted by Focus Bari in June 2023, the predominant mode of transportation for international tourists traveling to Greece was by air, with 72.6% opting for flights. In contrast, a more eco-friendly option, train travel, was selected by merely 1.0% of visitors. This marks a shift from the previous survey in November 2022, where 74.2% of tourists traveled by plane and 1.8% by train, indicating a slight decline in air travel and a marginal rise in alternative transportation methods. For comprehensive insights, the Greek Tourism Analytics Dashboard (GTAD), developed by the Institute of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (INSETE), offers an extensive public statistical database available to all interested parties.
