In 2023, approximately 2.7 million Slovak residents had the opportunity to travel. However, the travel industry had not fully recovered from the pandemic impact, reaching only 78.9% of the peak value observed in 2019. Among all travelers, 40.8% were aged between 25 and 44 years, closely followed by 34.4% of travelers aged 45 to 64 years. Most Slovak residents (45.2%) preferred domestic travel, while 19.8% traveled abroad, maintaining consistency with pre-pandemic patterns. More detailed data is available from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic’s publicly accessible database, which is automatically updated and allows for exploration of tourism participation by Slovak residents.
