In 2023, the majority of domestic trips taken by Finnish citizens were leisure trips with free accommodation, accounting for 61.7% of all domestic travel. When traveling abroad, 75.5% of trips were leisure trips with overnight stays in the destination country. Overall, 87.8% of both domestic and international trips by Finnish residents were primarily for leisure rather than business purposes.
