In the first five months of 2024, Romania welcomed approximately 4.5 million tourists, representing a 2.5% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Among these visitors, 81.6% were Romanian nationals, while the remaining 18.4% were foreign tourists. Notably, the city of Brașov was the preferred destination for domestic tourists, accounting for 13.4% of all visits within the country. For foreign travelers, Bucharest emerged as the top choice, with 47.8% of all selected destinations. These patterns shed light on the preferences of international tourists exploring Romania.
