In 2023, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic and related restrictions, tourism’s total contribution to Greece’s GDP rose significantly. It increased from EUR 61.2 billion (33.4% of GDP) in 2019 to EUR 75.6 billion (34.3% of GDP). Additionally, domestic expenditure rose from EUR 2.8 billion to EUR 4.9 billion, and the contribution of inbound tourism increased from EUR 17.7 billion to EUR 19.8 billion, indicating a full recovery of the industry. For more detailed information, the Greek Tourism Analytics Dashboard (GTAD), a public statistical database maintained by the Institute of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (INSETE), is freely accessible and can be customized to suit individual requirements.
