Austrian residents have shown a significant increase in holiday trips and a slight decrease in business trips since the pandemic, according to the latest data from Statistik Austria.

In 2023, Austrian residents made 27.0 million holiday trips, with 53.0% of these trips being abroad, and 3.9 million business trips, according to the latest data from Statistik Austria. This represents a significant increase from the pre-pandemic figure of 21.2 million holiday trips, marking a 27.3% growth and the highest value since data became available in 2003. While business trips have increased compared to 2019, there has been a slight overall decline since 2003, accelerated by the pandemic.
