Greece is a strong contender in the hotel and similar accommodations sector, ranking third among seven competitors in terms of net occupancy rate during the peak season months of July and August 2023, with rates of 78.4% and 82.9% respectively. Cyprus leads the pack with an impressive 96.7% occupancy in July and an even higher 100.9% in August. On the other end of the spectrum, France recorded the lowest net occupancy rates for both months, with 59.5% in July and 68.0% in August. This pattern mirrors the trend observed in 2019, where Croatia led, Greece took the third spot, and France lagged behind, indicating a consistent preference among tourists for certain destinations.
