KU Leuven has published a report summarising the outcomes of its international conference on Cultural Tourism Advances, held at the Odisee Campus in Brussels from 27-28 June 2023. This event was organised in collaboration with the European Research Executive Agency and several projects, including IMPACTOUR, SPOT, SmartCulTour, TExTOUR, INCULTUM, and Be.CULTOUR. The conference aimed to explore the sustainable development potential of cultural tourism by examining successful policy interventions, emerging trends, advancements in visitor management systems, and innovative business and governance models. The report highlights conference presentations on cultural tourism management, regional development, new data methods, future trends, and lessons from Horizon 2020 projects, advancing knowledge and development of this field.
