European Tourism Day 2023, organized by the European Commission, took place on May 5, 2023, in Brussels, Belgium. It addressed the challenges faced by the EU tourism ecosystem since 2018 and looking forward to 2030. During the event participants took part in the opening discussion and in roundtable discussions about twin transition, and upskilling and workforce. In addition, it featured presentations and discussions from various stakeholders, including representatives from national tourist offices, environmental organizations, and tourism businesses, covering topics such as digital transition, green transition, and skills development. Its primary objective was to share best practices, discuss policy priorities, and collaborate on strategies to build a resilient and sustainable tourism sector in Europe.
