The webinar aimed to raise awareness around two key elements of sustainable tourism strategy in the European context:
- How can multimodal ticketing systems simplify sustainable travel and reduce reliance on private cars and short-haul flights?
- What role can EU policy, technology providers, and tourism operators play in enabling a more integrated and user-friendly travel experience?
The webinar gathered representatives from Transport & Environment, Rail Europe, the European Travel Commission, DG MOVE, BEUC, Amadeus, SNCF Group, and ECTAA to discuss and showcase best practices, with the objective to:
- Raise awareness of how integrated ticketing and multimodal travel can support the decarbonisation of tourism
- Highlight the importance of digital infrastructure, data sharing, and regulatory alignment in enabling seamless travel
- Provide guidance to tourism and transport stakeholders on implementing effective multimodal strategies
- Showcase best practices that inspire new approaches to sustainable travel planning and policy
More information about the main discussion points and key conclusions of the webinar are presented in the Webinar Summary.
Below you can also find the final agenda, the recording and the presentations made by speakers during the webinar.
