The European Commission has launched a call for project proposals under the Horizon Europe program, offering a total budget of €98 million to support the EU Mission on Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities. This funding aims to advance research and innovation in four key areas: rethinking urban spaces, achieving zero-pollution cities, developing mobility management plans, and integrating peri-urban areas. The goal is to transform 100 cities into climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030, setting a model for other European cities to follow by 2050. The deadline for submissions is February 11, 2025.
