The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), Portugal's national public agency supporting research in science, technology, and innovation, has announced a funding call in collaboration with various entities, including the University of Madeira (UMa), for Scientific Research and Technological Development (SR&TD) projects focused on the tourism and maritime sectors in Madeira. The objective is to bolster UMa's position in the national higher education landscape by advancing scientific and technological skills in these strategic areas. Additionally, it aims to promote knowledge transfer and innovation in key sectors for regional development, and to enhance institutional partnerships and scientific cooperation.

Entities involved in R&D projects, including various non-profit private and public institutions and companies, can apply for funding of up to EUR 250,000 per project by 10 April 2025, with a total of EUR 2 million available.
