The Ministry for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy of Saarland provides financial support to private tourism enterprises in the region. The goal is to enhance the competitiveness and adaptability of SMEs in tourism, create or secure permanent jobs, and support structural change, job security, and sustainable development in Saarland's economy and leisure sector.
SMEs in the accommodation and leisure industry from the Merzig-Wadern, St. Wendel, and Saarpfalz districts are eligible for funding. To qualify, at least 50% of the project costs must be related to sustainability measures (such as reducing noise pollution, energy-efficient renovations, and accessibility improvements). Additionally, applicants must secure at least 25% of the eligible project costs from their own or external funds.
The programme, running from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2027, prioritises projects that create or maintain permanent jobs and enhance the region's tourism infrastructure. For more details, please refer to the attached link (The original piece available only in German).
