The Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) of the European Commission published a report in February 2025 on smart tourism practices from the 2025 European Capital of Smart Tourism competition. The report highlights leading practices from tourism destinations in four key areas: accessibility, sustainability, digitalisation, and cultural heritage and creativity. Its aim is to foster the exchange of best practices among participating cities, enhance peer-to-peer learning, and promote innovative tourism development within the EU.
