In January, 2025, the European Commission released a report showcasing smart and sustainable tourism practices from cities participating in the 2025 European Green Pioneer of Smart Tourism. It includes best practices in accessibility, sustainability, digitalisation, cultural heritage and green transition. The report highlights successful strategies from Torino and Benidorm, which exemplify leadership in sustainable tourism through innovative digital and green practices. The report aims to raise awareness about sustainable tourism initiatives, share best practices from various destinations and enhance peer-to-peer learning for sustainable tourism development.
