The European Commission’s 2024 document “Jobs and Skills in Tourism” addresses the challenges faced by the tourism sector, particularly the difficulty small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have in hiring skilled staff. It highlights the EU’s efforts to connect jobseekers with employers, invest in reskilling and upskilling, and support the transition towards green and digital jobs. In addition, it outlines various funding programs and resources available to both jobseekers and businesses to ensure a competitive and sustainable tourism workforce.
