The tourism ecosystem requires accessible and reliable centralised data sources to make informed decisions and forecast the impacts of crisis events. Many destinations face challenges in data collection and analysis, especially among regional DMOs and SMEs, who often lack advanced systems and technologies. This gap prevents effective aggregation and analysis of data, limiting the use of predictive models crucial for crisis preparedness. Additionally, the absence of open data platforms hinders information sharing among stakeholders, leading to fragmented data exchange that undermines resilience and competitiveness. Therefore, developing integrated data collection and analysis platforms is essential for enhancing decision-making and supporting destination management.
