The Croatian Ministry of Tourism and Sports’ report for January to August 2024 highlights a robust tourism performance, with 16.85 million visitors marking a 4% increase from 2023. Overnight stays reached 89.52 million, up by 1%, and projected revenue from foreign tourists is €15.2 billion, a 4% rise. Hotel occupancy was at 95.1%, campsites at 89.1%, and private accommodations at 72.4%. The top markets for tourist arrivals were Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, and Poland. The report also emphasizes the importance of sustainable and inclusive tourism, focusing on premium experiences in nature, gastronomy, culture, and lifestyle (The original piece available only in Croatian).
