The EU's Green Deal Industrial Plan aims to accelerate the development and deployment of clean technologies in Europe to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. It focuses on creating a supportive environment for clean tech industries and enhancing the EU’s competitiveness in the global market.

It sets specific goals which include increasing the production capacity for clean technologies, fostering innovation in clean tech industries, generating employment opportunities in the green sector, and contributing to the EU’s goal of becoming the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. For fulfilling these goals the plan outlines specific actions, such as net-zero industry act, electricity market design reform, mobilization of significant funding for green investments, enhancements of skills through partnerships and training initiatives, and trade agreements.

The plan is expected to significantly boost the EU’s clean tech sector, create millions of green jobs, and ensure the EU meets its ambitious climate targets. It also aims to position the EU as a global leader in the green transition.
