The second volume of the report, “‘Overtourism’? – Understanding and Managing Urban Tourism Growth beyond Perceptions,” published by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in January 2019, is a collaborative effort between the UNWTO, the Centre of Expertise Leisure, Tourism & Hospitality (CELTH) of Breda University of Applied Sciences and the European Tourism Futures Institute (ETFI) of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences to highlight urban strategies for managing visitor growth. It includes 18 case studies from cities across the Americas, Asia, the Pacific, and Europe. The report aims is to provide inspiration and guidance to cities on balancing the needs of residents and visitors, offering solutions to mitigate the negative impacts of overtourism while promoting sustainable urban tourism development. The first volume of the report presents 11 strategies and 68 measures to better understand and manage visitor growth in cities. Both reports are available via the attached link, with the second volume priced at EUR 40 and both volumes at EUR 85.
