Launched in January 2024, the Fáilte Ireland "Tourism Barometer" offers insights on Ireland's diverse tourism sectors. Citizens of 26 counties participated in a study titled "Residents' Attitudes towards Tourism in Ireland," which shows that opinions are generally quite favourable towards both domestic and foreign travel. Nine out of ten locals concur that tourism is good for their county. Opportunities to work, the opening or continuation of local enterprises, and the chance to experience other cultures are among the main advantages that people see. Even though there are certain drawbacks (including parking, garbage, and traffic), locals agree that these problems are being fixed. The Barometer provides guidance for sustainable destination development and emphasises the significance of offering visitors a genuine Irish welcome.
