Codes of Good Practice have been developed to offer guidance to tourism companies engaging in activities, aiming to minimize negative impacts while maximizing benefits for destinations and participants. Emphasizing responsible management of external environmental, socio-cultural, and economic impacts, these codes focus on fundamental sustainability aspects. Supported by the European Commission through the EU COSME funded SUSTOUR project, this work involved collaboration among ECEAT, ECTAA, Futouris, ANVR, UHPA, APAVT, SMAL, and over 20 European travel associations, all striving to promote sustainability within the European travel sector.
