The International Air Transport Association (IATA) offers a 20-hour, self-paced course designed to equip participants with the knowledge required to identify and assist travellers with non-emergency special needs. The course covers the definition of special needs travellers, strategies for business development in this segment, available supplier services and support, and recommended practices for managing emergency situations involving such travellers.

It is intended for professionals in the travel industry, including travel agency staff and owners, airport and airline passenger service personnel, and providers of medical support services. The course is delivered in e-book format with interactive elements and concludes with an online assessment.

The course fee is USD 100. Participants who successfully complete the assessment will receive an official certificate of completion.
