As of 28 June, the European Accessibility Act requires that key services and products—including emergency number 112, banking, public transport, and digital platforms—comply with accessibility standards across the EU, ensuring equal access for all citizens, particularly those with disabilities.

The European Accessibility Act (EU Directive 2019/882), which came into effect on 28 June, introduces standardised accessibility requirements for key products and services across the EU. These include emergency services, banking, public transport, and digital platforms. The directive aims to ensure consistent compliance across all EU Member States, particularly benefiting individuals with disabilities.

To mark the implementation of the directive and to provide information on its scope and application, AccessibleEU is organising events in Brussels on 1 and 3 July. Details about the event scheduled for 3 July 2025 can be found via the attached link

For further information, please refer to the attached link on the left-hand side of the platform.
