On 11 July 2025, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood announced increased EU support for Ukraine’s culture and heritage. Through the new Team Europe initiative for Cultural Heritage in Ukraine, over 60 actions will be launched in 2025 to protect artefacts, train professionals, and preserve cultural identity. An additional EUR 2 million was added to the 2025 Creative Europe Special Call for Ukraine, bringing total EU cultural aid since the war began to over EUR 50 million. These efforts aim to strengthen Ukraine’s resilience and safeguard its cultural legacy amid ongoing threats.
